The company
The Sound Detective is a boutique audio plugin brand created by producer, mixer, and artist Detective 47. After years of working inside real sessions with analog gear, outboard compression, vintage synths, tape-style textures, and experimental effects, Detective 47 created The Sound Detective to build plugins that solve real creative problems in the studio.
These are not sterile utility tools. They are character-driven plugins built for movement, texture, reverse effects, timing, grit, controlled destruction, and creative decision-making.
The detective
Detective 47 is the creative identity of Alex Koch, the producer, mixer, multi-instrumentalist, and engineer behind Digital Dust Studio. The Sound Detective plugin line grew out of real studio workflow — analog gear, vocal chains, synth experiments, reverse effects, dust, grit, timing problems, and the constant hunt for sounds that feel alive.
The studio
Every tool is tested on real records at Digital Dust Studio — a working recording, production, mixing, and mastering studio — before it ships. If it doesn't survive a session, it doesn't make the case file.
