Case No. 12.47 — The Fourteen-Day Investigation
Take the case.
The full plugin. Every knob live, every folder open, nothing held back — for fourteen days. Then the case closes, and you decide what you heard.
VST3 + AU · Mac 64-bit · v12.47.13 · Windows trial is on the way.
How the investigation works
- 1. Download and install. One installer puts the VST3 and AU on your machine. Restart your DAW.
- 2. Enter your code. Open Dust 12.47 on a track. It asks for an activation code — the kind that looks like SD47-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX. Don't have one? Request one above; it arrives by email.
- 3. Fourteen days on the clock. The clock starts when you activate — not when you download. A small marker in the corner keeps the count. When time's up, Dust steps aside politely: your session opens fine, audio passes through clean and untouched.
The fine print, spoken plainly
Activation needs an internet connection for a moment; after that, Dust checks in quietly and works offline for up to a week at a stretch. The trial is the complete plugin — no silence, no noise bursts, no watermarks. Reinstalling doesn't restart the clock. Time doesn't bend for anyone; don't bother adjusting yours.

What we keep, what we don't
Activating sends us your code, a one-way scrambled machine fingerprint (raw hardware details never leave your computer), an editable device name, and the plugin version. That's the whole file. No usage tracking, no audio, no analytics, nothing sold or shared. Records are kept only while your license could still need support — deletion requests: whoisdetective47@gmail.com.
FAQ
The Mac says it can't check the app for malware.
It shouldn't — the installer is signed and notarized by Apple (Developer ID: Alex Koch). If you ever see that warning, the download didn't complete cleanly: delete the file, re-download it from this page, and check it against the published SHA-256. Never bypass a Gatekeeper warning for a file that fails that check.
My fourteen days are up. Now what?
The case reopens with a full license — Dust 12.47 the full license is $97 on the plugin page. Your settings and sessions survive; enter a new code and everything wakes up where you left it.
Can I move the trial to another computer?
One machine per trial code. If you need to switch, write in — the detective is reasonable.
